BLUEorange Gallery

Hello, Art Lovers, Wherever You Are...

Without art the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

There is a great new art gallery in Houston on West Gray called the BLUEorange Gallery. They are getting rave reviews for the artists they showcase.

In my business I am lucky enough to be immersed in the wonderful world of art every day. I decided early on that I would build my company with artists. Being an artist myself, I understand the mindset and being A.D.D. as well, so we seem to work really well together! That's probably why we like Interior Designers so much too! Many people in my profession of decorative painting come from a house painter or construction background and add faux finishing and decorative painting to their list of home improvement talents. At Anything But Plain, we pride ourselves on being artists first with the emphasis in decorative painting, and plaster second. We feel this not only shows in the uncompromising quality of our work but also in the unique creativity we are able to bring to each new project. You get a bunch of creative people in a room, and we have more ideas than McDonald’s has hamburgers! Plus, we know how to make it work! It’s the best part of my job.

Jacob Spacek, Anything But Plain artistThis week I’d like to take a moment and introduce one of our newest artists, Jacob Spacek. Jacob and his sister Meagan Spacek are the founders of BLUEorange, a fine art gallery in the Montrose area. Jacob and Meagan only moved to Houston a year ago to begin their adventure as artists/gallery owners. We are so impressed by how quickly they have networked and built their gallery business. In their own words, their desire with BLUEorange is to...support the production and exhibition of innovative art and a range of creative endeavors. As artists and siblings, the founders of BLUEorange seek to foster a supportive community of artists much like a family.

Besides the gallery, Jacob is an unspeakably talented artist that has contributed to our crew immensely in the short time he has been on board. We absolutely adore Jacob and his gallery, and want all of you to know what a great little jewel is around the corner.

Check out their website for their upcoming show “Diegetic Debris,” running April 5-26.
