If you could do something dangerous just once with no risk, what would you do?I would base jump off of the Burj Khalifa; the tallest building in the world located in Dubai. The Burj Khalifa is, in my opinion, architecturally stunning. To be able to jump off of a wonder like that and fall towards such an incredible view below with no risk at all; I would do it in a heartbeat. I have always had the desire for thrill seeking, but have not followed through with any of the big ticket items (yet!). For now, I'll start with skydiving! Would you rather live for a week in the past or the future? I have always believed that you should never have regrets. Everyone makes mistakes or has moments they would do differently if able to, but I feel that you learn from these things. I wouldn't want to live a week in the past because I feel the past is the past and it has made me who I am today. I would much rather live a week in the future. It would be incredible to meet my future great-great-grandchildren who I will probably never be able to meet otherwise, to see how the world has evolved, and to see technology that was created after my lifetime. As much as I love and appreciate the day to day, I am always excited to see what the future holds.
Where would you like to go on vacation if money was not a factor? This would also have to be if time was not a factor, because if money was not a factor, I would go on vacation for years! It would be a dream come true to travel the world, and of course, I would want to spend as much time as it took in each place to really get an appreciation for it. I would start at home, traveling through Texas. Then I would branch out to see the best of each state. After that, the world knows no bounds. I would love to visit every continent, yes, including Antarctica! One of my favorite things to do while traveling is to really try to absorb the culture. So on top of site seeing, I would want to go to where the locals go and eat what they eat and learn the language. Fortunately, my husband has traveled a lot of the world, so I would also have a great tour guide!
"It has been such a pleasure working with Anything But Plain! Janie and her team produce beautiful, quality, original work. They are such a joy to work with for all parties involved; the designer, the client and the builder. Everything they touch receives a truly personal approach, a detailed eye, and a genuine care for the outcome." – Michelle Glennon, Design Associate, Slovack-Bass
Michelle and I just finished a great job in Clear Lake together. We got to do a lot of the house including this beautiful dining room. That's pearl fresco finish on the walls with an embedded over-sized pattern. You can just see the beams on the vaulted ceiling that really added drama to the room. Thanks, Margie and Michelle!
