I have yellow on my mind. When it gets gray outside nothing is nicer than sunny thoughts. When I think of sunny, I think of yellow. It’s perky and happy. Yellow just makes me smile. For me, any shade but pale yellow is good. Babies don’t like pale yellow either. Especially when painted on their walls. It makes them cranky. A baby’s room painted in primary colors, including primary yellow can help raise a child’s intelligence.
I don’t know if it helps adults in the same wonderful way but it certainly is a hot color (excuse the pun) right now in interior design. Used as an accent or the main color it gives added vibrancy to any room. Taxi cab yellow is showing up in fabrics, walls, accessories, etc., especially in combination with gray and black and white. As long as the accompanying color has the same saturation, yellow works well with just about any color. Take a look at these great room shots. Some are ours and some are just great inspirations. Keeping smiling!
